Due to popular demand, a night filled with Magic will return Saturday, March 11th. Drafting will begin around 5. The sooner we can start, the safer we will be with departure times. As before, everyone will leave with a booster.
Format: Rochester Drafted Type 4 group game. Last one standing gets first pick from the Stack O’ Boosters.
Type 4: All players have infinite mana, but can only play one spell per turn.
Rochester Draft: I’ll set up a pool of 200 cards from which we will draft 40 card decks. All players must play with every card they draft.
What to bring: $3, or let me know you’ll be bringing a booster.

I’m tired of pdfs. The bullet will have to be bitten, and stories formatted to html. Check out Episode Dos and 1/2 to see what the new format will look like. Your comments are welcome.

The Guildpact tournament went off with nary a hitch. After slight delay as beverages were purchased and work was done, decks were constructed and duels fought. Sven Vs. Sully turned out to be the excellent paring of the night, with both of their decks twirling around each other in perfect symmetry for match two.
It was midway through this battle that Steve had to bid us farewell and prepare for a night of work. Though he doesn’t play Magic all that often, there were a few times during our battles I felt on the ropes, and it sounded like he did some pretty good work against Sven.
Eventually, Sven pulled ahead in his battle with Sully, and achieved a well deserved victory. He moved on to me while Sully edited the Cow Defender book cover. Sven ripped through my deck with a vengeance the first round, but the next two would end in my favor.
As far as I could tell, a good time was had by all. With some scheduling, it may be possible to do something like this again in the coming weeks. Perhaps not sealed deck, but some crazy group game, team game, or combination of the two with some Alien Hominid tossed in.

The Guildpact release sealed deck mini tournament will be taking place this Saturday, likely at my place, starting around 5.What should you bring? A starter deck of Ravnica, three Guildpact boosters, and one booster of your choice to be offered as a prize. Everyone will leave with a prize.
Steve and I will be splitting a box, so there will be cheap Guildpact packs if you don’t want to buy them from Collector’s Cache. I’ll be going there tomorrow to get rid of my Glimpse the Unthinkable, so I can pick up your cards if you’d like. If this is something you’d be interested in, email me or call my cell.
