Back to School

School starts up again tonight.  I have my pre-class homework completed, and my chapters read.  It’s still so strange to think that I am once again in school.

    Good luck, Josh!

I had that same feeling in August. Of course it’s not like I graduated thinking I’d never return, and then going back for more, but I think the situation is similar enough. Work + School = tired Sully.

    Godspeed, lil Hoj

    Very cool.
I don’t have work stories, and have difficulty relating to such.
I have the vaguest of memories of working.

School, on the otherhand, I have those stories.
    Welcome back into the fold.
What does your weekend look like?

Being on the other side of the first class now, having yesterday slowly approach made the whole school thing feel more real. Applying and being accepted and choosing classes somehow didn’t fully translate into me sitting in a classroom of thirty-ish people with a professor lecturing us.

My teacher is annoyingly disorganized, so on Wednesday we have two (1 pg, single spaced) papers to write, a presentation to perform over one of the papers (if we choose to), and a test.

Enough rambling. Sully, I very much agree we are in the same boat. The tired Sully and tired Hoj versions of us will be the ones interacting with people for the next while.

Sven, I have a ribbon cutting to attend on Saturday from 11-1. Friday night would work for me, and I think Saturday after the cut ribbon could also work.

    Ribbon cutting, eh?
    Friday is probably dynamite.

You should see this ‘thing’ Sully and I are working on.

I finally smacked my site around a little.
I added a fresh new gallery, and tried to bring the salesmanship up a notch (the previous ‘buy my book’ icons were a bit ambiguous).

If we do wind up getting Planar Chaos stuff, I was thinking that we could make a fairly big list of ‘reserved rares,’ we could strike off ones that appear on both lists (or negotiate), then we could carve our lists down to be even.

So if I have a list of 9 and you have a list of 7.
We compare and see that we both want Temporal Extortion, we could choose to knock it off our lists.
    8 and 6.
Then I carve my list down to 6.
    6 and 6.
    Then open.

I have my list ready, I believe.
Almost time for practice session 7. I’ll have done 10 practice sessions before the competition in total. I don’t know how describe the feeling in my belly before these. It isn’t nerves or butterflies. I don’t get a rush when I’m up there, but I do get a release when I’m done.

I guess it is just the feeling that comes with having to do something that you don’t want to do, but you must/should. And on this day, I have an added weight upon me, as the judge on Tuesday said I was good. My groupmates complimented my performance.

Did you see Spanglish? Because Adam Sandler’s character in it was nervous of getting a 5 star review. He wanted a 4.5, as that would be a high compliment, but 5 means there is nowhere to go but down. I guess I have a bit of that. Anywho, I get to have fun on the other side of it today.
