It is with great sadness I must report we have lost one of the great eating establishments in the Rosana Square shopping center. Leaving work today, my plan was to head over to Rosana and stop in for a little Marrakesh Cafe buffet then take a few pictures of the Square while taking some notes for the soon to be fleshed out site. It turns out my plan was destined to fail, no matter how prosperous their newly updated website would make you believe. Normally I love stopping in at KenTacoHut for a quick burrito while watching CNN on the big screens, but today I couldn’t bring myself to enjoy the moment, knowing such a great restaurant has closed its doors and pulled down its new orange sign.
Marrakesh Cafe will live on in our hearts, and our memories. Let us look back now, and remember the good times.

So sad. Good homage!
What are you guys doing in that last pic?
I sent a message to the email address provided on their site to see what was going on. I hope they’re just moving to another location, but I fear the restaurant has gone under.
In the last picture, Lacuna Coil came to the Borders at 92nd and Metcalf to play a few songs before their concert that night, and did a CD signing after. This picture would have been taken after we got autographs, but before I got the roadie to sign my poster.
This shows the importance of documenting the Square.
With your vigilant eye upon it, Merrakesh will not slip unnoticed into that good night.
Still no response on my Marrakesh email. Hopefully they are too busy relocating, or planning the next Mediterranean Cafe, to answer questions.
You are certainly the foremost Rosana Square journalist.
did you just add the rollercoaster one?
or did it just never load before?
When I looked at the site most recently, I saw that I had created and uploaded the roller coaster, then didn’t link to it. I’m not sure why, it’s one of my favorites.
I remember those parties!
