Eventide Pre-Re

Feral just posted the Eventide pre-release will be July 12-13.  The perfect time to get our enemy hybrid card flop on.

In other news, MS’s Zune store is following Apple’s lead by giving away tracks from three artists away for free each week.  I’m digging The Poison.  It should be Bullet for My Valentine, The Poison is the album.  Kind of a Taproot shouty band.  The Poison Bullet for My Valentine should not to be confused with Poison.

While I’m posting, did everyone get the new Firefox?

The Return!

Glad to be back from France.  Seeing Laura at the airport last night is one of my happiest moments.

My internet connection stopped working on Saturday, so there are some pictures I still need to post.  Hopefully those will be up this afternoon.  There should also be some pictures posted on the ESC site today, so once I find them I’ll throw up a link.

And for those interested, the Shadowmoor pre-release will be held April 19-20 at the Olathe Holiday Inn across from the Great Mall.

Beautiful

Purchased the new single Beautiful by 10 Years off of Amazon. The first time I’ve done that. The process is nice, the song has no DRM, and the song is fantastic. Can’t wait until the album this song is on is released.

I also recently finished The Wisdom of Crowds and have moved on to Positioning.  Crowds was a quick and enjoyable read.  The premise is that a group is consistently wiser than any one person within the group (group opinion forms a bell curve, the mean opinion of the group will be closer to the truth than any individual guess).  For this to work though, each member of the group must be motivated to make their best guess, each person must provide an opinion independent of everyone else, and the group should be diverse.  This idea of diversity has come up before in other readings to combat groupthink and to provide numerous vantage points on a single subject.

When I have a few more minutes, I’ll throw something up about the other books I have read recently.

Steve and I were in the Morningtide pre-release tournament a couple weeks ago.  I finished the weekend batting .500, while Steve won packs both times.  I really think the second day should have gone better for me, but I burned myself the second game against my second opponent putting packs out of my reach.  My decklists are saved, I just have to put them up sometime.

Morningtide Pre-Release

The pre-release for Morningtide will happen January 19-20 at the Holiday Inn Olathe (across from the Great Mall).

Registration starts at 9 AM.  Pre-registration is through Collector’s Cache.
