Trippy Old Timer

After a conversation with Steve today, I went back to investigate the hometown.aol.com/hippogrif website looking for The Equations of Good Stuffness.  Unfortunately, the only files even remotely that old are a guy tripping over the letter A, Condiment Man falling from the sky, and the flaming logo from 1997-1998.

These still crack me up.  Oh, and it takes a bit for CM to hit the ground.

Success!  I left it on my dad’s screenname.  All the files have been relocated to loeffert.net in all their original glory.

Old pages: About Me; Winning a Contest (Poor Adam); Old News; New News (Blogs hadn’t been invented yet); How to Mosey; An Index Page for My Dad; Equations of Good Stuffness

Updates

As you’ve probably noticed, Condiment Man is watching your every move while you read these blog entries. He looks happy now, but know that his smile could turn upside down with a drop of wasted mustard. The other site links were going to be pictureized, but I have no idea what font I used when creating the CM picture, and multiple fonts looked horrible.

While messing around with some things on the site, I noticed the stories index page sometimes crashed IE6, and when it loaded correctly, the right side of the table hides under the right sidebar. Instead of attempting to fix it, I recommend you switch to Firefox 2.0 or upgrade to Internet Explorer 7. Both will load the page correctly. I could say it’s laziness on my part, or I could say this is your chance to be proactive and upgrade before either program asks you to. You’d be ahead of the curve! Leading the pack! Grab the bull by the horns and watch out for Cow Defender. By the way, does Cow Defender defend bulls?

As for the new story, here’s a little ketchup to liven an otherwise bland posting.

New Character for New Condiment Man story

Conversion

The new Condiment Man story draws ever closer. I’ve been hard at work converting the older stories from pdf to the new cssful layout. In the process, I came across a great Condiment Man quote I had long forgotten in Combo of Death.

I glanced over my shoulder toward the laugh, and saw the maroon vested guardian, known as Movie Guy.

“Could I see your tickets?” he asked, already knowing the answer.

“I’m not going to see a movie. We came in here to fight,” I replied.

So far, no word has come back from the USPTO in regards to knocking the other guy’s CM trademark out of existence. I hope to hear back tomorrow, though I have gotten phone calls from a 320 area code the past two days with no message.

On the MBA front, I had to deal with the KU bureaucracy yesterday and today. It seems a car linked to my name in the KU parking department computer was ticketed sometime between when I picked up my transcript for AMP and now, which resulted in a hold on my account. Two phone calls to two departments cleared it up, so I should have everything I need for the deadline. The hold music for the Registrar is some intense Stuff. There’s this constant beat with a triumphant melody, and every few minutes a man cuts in to talk about how much KU does for kids. “Eight-year-old Billy Doe is training for a 5k marathon because of KU. ‘It makes me feel lazy,’ said Billy’s father.” You should call just to be put on hold for a while.

Mod 4 Post

Just as we’ve done in all mod 4 posts, questions from the readers will be answered. In some cases, reader posts have been combined or completely made up.

Q. How can you have a mod 4 post when this is post 30, and you have never had a mod 4 post previously?

A. See the title? I’ve decided that alone can decide whether or not the post is a mod 4. Who knows when the title will strike and questions will be answered.

Q. What have you been up to?

A. Excellent question.

Website Stuff
Have you checked out the linker? I put the Car Talk radio show on the list of podcasts I listen to, as well as the tools that could be used to put the show back together in mp3 form. In addition, the list of bands which I have folders for on my computer have been added to the page, with links to whatever felt most official, or what I found first. If I couldn’t find anything on them, or it seems the band is no more, a link was get you unintentionally ignored for a month.

Magic Stuff
Previews of Coldsnap have started showing up on Wizards site. The new old set has some interesting cards. They’re trying pretty hard to make snow covered work. I’m anxious to see what happens at the pre-release. Steve said he should be able to come, though he qualified that by stating his availability is more up in the air since he started working at the Palazzo. I also need to check in with Sully to see if he’d be available for some new old school card flopping.

Energy Drink Stuff
Mad Croc has been my energy drink of choice for the past week or so. It has some of the biting taste of Red Bull, but comes in a bigger can and costs half as much. Plus, it contains Vitamins! Everyone needs Vitamins to start their day, and the thought of a mad croc eating you from the inside out over the course of the day is an added bonus.

Condiment Man Stuff
A Condiment Man movie of Episode Dos and 1/2 has been made (see previous post). The new story where CM faces off against Steve Case was also typed up, though it hasn’t even started the revision process. I’ve also decided to make an aside in the story into a concurrent plot thread instead. In the following story, a new villain is going to be introduced who has his very own sidekick. I’ve also thought about making a few more movies for YouTube that aren’t moving stories.

Time Stuff
My past found some sort of worm hole and jumped into my present over the last weekend. Dave, one of the guys I was good friends with back in Mechanicsburg, found my MySpace page and sent me a message about a month ago. Since I hardly ever check the page and when I do, assume the majority of my mail is junk, let his “Hey” message sit in my inbox for way too long. When I replied, it turns out he, Aaron, and Mike are still good friends who have been up to some crazy stuff since I last saw them over 10 years ago.

TV/Movie Stuff
I’m interested to watch Who Wants to be a Superhero? to see how well it’s done, and somewhat wish I would have known about it sooner. If done right, I think My Super Ex-Girlfriend could be right up my alley. Just watch the trailer.

Q. Is this a good place to ask? Or is email better?

A. It really depends on what you’re after. If you’d like a timely response, email is probably best. Though if I have something ready to post, you may get lucky. One things for sure, sending a message to my MySpace will almost certainly get you unintentionally ignored for a month.

The words moved!

That’s right, Condiment Man has his very own movie uploaded to YouTube Condiment Man on YouTube (so please vote for it), and also lives on this here website in better quality, so watch the Condiment Man Movie. Now some of you may say what I did is a rehash of something already created, and you are partially right, but let’s focus on the part where you’re wrong for now. This time, the story is told with moving characters, a story moving forward in real time - regardless of whether you’re paying attention to it or not, and a soundtrack of lyricless rock baseline. All new! As a bonus, I’ve even thrown in a few edits here and there, to spice things up a bit. Not that spicy, more like ketchup hot. In fact, you probably won’t even notice anything different from the original text.

Some of you remember Steve (Sven) Long and his adventure to the South of Africa. Below is proof that he is there, or knows someone there who he told to go to this site, or he found a way to make it look like he is on a computer there. You really shouldn’t put any of those options past him, I sure wouldn’t.
